Where it all began…
Some of the best ideas aren’t planned.
Iron Drake began with a simple moment between a father and his daughter. We were sitting together, drawing funny cartoon characters with oversized feet, when a quick 30-second sketch unexpectedly turned into a duck wearing a suit of armor.
It wasn’t meant to become anything more than a fun drawing.
But something about it stuck.
I’ve spent years in the creative industry, and my daughter has always loved art. Looking at that little armored duck, one thought kept coming back:
What if I could build something my family could be part of together?
That single sketch became the spark.
After a few conversations exploring ideas, the name Iron Drake was born. Iron represented the armor, while Drake carried a double meaning—a male duck is called a drake, and a drake is also another name for a dragon. That connection naturally shaped the direction of the logo, bringing both ideas together as the dragon joined the duck to complete the vision behind the name. Within an hour, the domains were secured, and by the next day, the website was already taking shape.
What started as a 30-second doodle between a father and his daughter became the foundation of a company built on creativity, craftsmanship, and the belief that great things often begin with the simplest ideas.
The part I’m most proud of isn’t the logo or the website.
It’s that every one of my four kids helped shape the characters that represent Iron Drake. Their ideas, excitement, and imagination are woven into the brand from the very beginning. This company was never meant to be just another business—it was meant to be something our family could help build together.
Today, Iron Drake has grown far beyond that original sketch. What began as a thought of creating a creative studio has expanded into printing, displays, apparel, hosting, technology, and other ventures—all united by the same commitment to quality craftsmanship and exceptional service. No matter what we build next, our mission remains the same: create products and services that people can trust, while never losing the creativity and imagination that started it all.
